In personality, Spud is a little 'mini-me' of his Dad, Darcy. He is a little clown that just loves to entertain. He really enjoyed playing 'show dog' and loved to show off in the ring. He is beautifully marked, with a gorgeous silky coat.
Spud had a fabulous show career, winning Baby Sweepstakes, many classes in group, and classes in Show. Spud obtained his title at 19 months of age with BOB at Cooma and District Kennel Club.
Some of Spud's wins included:
- Feb, 2008 - At Bega Valley Kennel Club Show Spud was 1st in 6 - 12 Sweepstakes, and also Puppy in Show.
- March, 2008 - Spud wins the Puppy Dog class at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, going on to take Puppy of Breed, and going one better than his mother did in 2006 by being 'Puppy of Day' for the Toy Ring
- June 2008 - Spud won 'Best Interstate Exhibit' at the CKCS Club of Victoria Specialty Show, an award his father Darcy won in 2005 and 2006
- July 2009 - Opp Sex Aus Bred in Show, CKCS Club of Qld
Unfortunately, Spud was not very fond of puppies, so in 2009 Spud went to a new home in North Queensland, where he has been training in Obedience and Agility. Spud was a particularly special dog to me, and I cried all the way to the airport when he left.
