RUBIS Ch Cavandra Hemmingway
Merseyport Morris Dance CDX JDX x Ch Cavandra Candide
DOB 20/4/03

Darcy was born on Easter Sunday 2003, and joined us when he was about six months old.

Darcy is our clown prince, and has us constantly entertained with his antics. Not a single moth or bug is allowed in the house - Darcy hunts them all down.

Darcy has a beautiful long silky coat of the correct texture, so it doesn't matt, and a beautiful, classical head. At the end of 2007, after an impressive show career, Darcy retired to the sofa - although that's pretty much the life he lead before! His son, Spud, is part of our current show team.

Darcy had some lovely wins under International Breed Specialist judges, but also won many classes in Group & in Show at All Breeds Shows.

Some of Darcy's achievements include:

  • 2004 Best Limit in Show, CKCS Club of Canberra (Judge: Mr Geoffrey Porter, 'Ringcreevy', Ireland)
  • 2004 Best Limit in Show, CKCS Club of Canberra (Judge: Mrs Annette Jones, 'Timsar', Wales)
  • 2005 Runner Up Best in Show, Fairfield & District All Breeds Kennel Club (Judge: Mrs Wendye Slatyer, NSW)
  • 2005 Best Limit in Show, CKCS Club of NSW (Judge: Mrs Lorraine Gillhespy, 'Lorphil', UK)
  • 2006 Best Aus Bred in Show, CKCS Club of NSW
  • 2007 Opp Sex Aus Bred in Show, CKCS Club of Qld (Judge: Mrs S Burnside, NZ)
  • 9 times 'Best Blenheim in Show' at Specialty Shows in NSW, Qld, Canberra & Victoria
  • 2006 Opposite Sex Senior Pointscore Winner - CKCS Club of NSW

Darcy has also had a brief dabble in Agility, and won the Judge's Choice "Most Entertaining Run" at the 2006 CKCS Club of NSW Agility/Jumping trial :-)

Mrs Gillhespy wrote: "Classically marked Blenheim with a beautiful long, silky coat in excellent condition. Super head and expression, dark eyes, well feathered ears and correct mouth and muzzle. Short back with good spring of rib and well turned stifles. He looked a picture when standing in profile and won this class on his exceptionally good movement."

and Mr Porter wrote: "Top notch blenheim full of style and glamour. Small and compact with a short well ribbed body but not lacking in agulation, allowing him to move with ease and precision. Very attractive head with glamorous long ears, large dark eyes, close up in the challenge."
